#2 Visit your local stream with a bridge
Book inspiration: House at Pooh Corner
The ideal spot for this adventure is a pedestrian-only bridge over a slow running stream. Preferably it would also be quaint and wooden.....but that's just for authenticity!
It's probably best to read the story before you leave on your adventure, so that everyone understands the game. If you don't have the book, the animated story is available to view on YouTube and it is adorable. It's such a lovely episode that's sure to bring you back a few years! Essentially all participants throw a stick into the water on one side of the bridge and then run to the other side to see whose sticks makes it downstream first.
Before your gang heads out for a game of Pooh Sticks, why not make your own personalised sticks so that you can tell whose is whose when they appear at the other side? Have all of your players find a pile of suitably sized sticks (5-10 should be fine) and then have each player choose a colour for the duration of the game. Each player should then dip their sticks into a pot of paint in their colour and leave them to dry.
Once the sticks are dry, dig out some of those sand-buckets that have been lying forlorn and forgotten in a cupboard since last Summer - because they're perfect Pooh Stick transporters! You're now ready to head off on your Winnie the Pooh adventure - we hope you have a brilliant time!
There you have it - book fueled adventure #2. What would you like to see next and what else would you include in your Pooh day out?
